Do you think we need to get rid of welfare or at least overhaul it greatly?

The welfare system has created generations with an entitlement mentality. They are unable to care for themselves. This was show during the aftermath of Katrina. People crying for th government to get them out after the storm when they could have left before it. Many, not all but many, had the ability to leave the city, did you know that there were 70,000 flooded cars that had to be removed from New Orleans alone after the storm. I worked in one of the hospitals that were damaged/destroyed by the storm and on Sunday night with the storm coming in people were driving the the ER to be seen for things like ear aches and toothaches and demanding to be seen because they had Medicaid!!! If I didn't have to stay because of my oath I would have left. Many of my colleagues did leave before the storm. The social welfare system needs to be disbands totally and the people on it learn to make a living like the rest of us.
