Cost to rebuild 1989 mercedes 300se transmission that mistakenly had power steering fluid installed?

In Canada, where I live, a Benz rebuilt transmission from Mercedes is just under $3000. That's just for the transmission, including the return of the core. Installation and tax are additional.
