Are you at all superstitious?

I grew up in a very superstitious household. My parents and aunts, although very religious, would become upset if someone inadvertantly ped the broom over thier feet. They did things like leaving food out for the "haints" and would prepare cabbage and black eyed peas and nail a leaf of cabbage above the door on new years day. All of this was to either to bring good luck or prevent bad luck. Do you believe any of these superstions? Do you not believe them per se but practice them anyway the way some of my relatives do? Their reasoning is "Just in case, it's true I don't want to tempt fate" Do you have other superstitions that you hold to? Why?
