I have a mother the same way!! I am 27 and she lives 2,000 miles away and still leaves messages on my phone with insults. I can only tell you that you need a good friend that supports you and understands you. As far as your dad just tell him your cool dad and you always will be. Just maintain a comfortable distance and when he barks at you smile and say dad your'e great.
